Holes in my feet

Day before yesterday I finally made it to Homeless Persons Health Project (HPHP), who told me that, yes indeed, those holes in the bottom of my feet were a cause for concern and that if I had Medi-Cal (which I could get if only I’d purchase some piece-of-junk vision or dental plan for $30/month) I could have a podiatrist to treat my feet, but that the infection would continue to heal and then flare up until I got off my feet – until I had a place to live.

So, I am supposed to exercise myself to get Medi-Cal so I can support a podiatrist when what I really need is a place to live?

This is not the world I grew up in. And it is not a world I want to live in.
