You know how I feel

Eleven am Saturday morning, and I’ve been up nearly eight hours.

It’s truly frustrating how little time I have to do anything.

Howard woke me up around 3:30 this morning and it was impossible to get much sleep after that as one after another, woken by Howard, went to the toilet and/or got a cup of coffee and went outside to smoke. I was remarking to Charlie just yesterday that I didn’t fall asleep sitting up all day yesterday.

There’s been a bus strike for over two weeks now, which doesn’t make a whole lot of difference to me since there is no bus service to Harvey West on nights and weekends. I paid $50 (regular price – they wouldn’t give me a disabled pass) for several months, and then when I got into the shelter I discovered there was no bus service nights and weekends.

But it does mean I have to take a Greyhound to get to Hayward. Last time I left at 9:30 am and didn’t get back till 10:30 pm. There is a bus at 6:20 am for Hayward, but there’s no way the locker bay would be open and I could put up my pack and sleeping bag and then walk 30 minutes to the bus station…

There’s a large article on the front page of the paper today about a homeless camp, complete with a little cabin, sofas and tiki torches. The articles mentions the coroner had been out there several times because of dead bodies in the vacinity. It also mentioned knifings and drug overdoses.

I continue to spend the 4-6 free hours I have on the internet. It’s been a year now since I’ve been able to do anything to my web site other than post to the blog. The activists in Southern California get virtually no publicity. That’s because there is only one real ‘news’ organ in the movement – Cannabis Culter – and that is owned by Emery. High Times was recently bought by a friend of his, I believe.

I know when I started the site I had tried for months to interest Emery & Cannabis Culture in The Victors. They were generating numerous news articles and Lanny was writing some very poignant emails about them….but it all fell on deaf ears at Cannabis Culture.

…well, the library computer just gave me a 10 minute warning, so no matter what this says it gets posted.

Some days I really do wonder if I wasn’t killed in that freeway accident and have been in Hell ever since.
